For bespoke timber beams, pricing is based on the volume of timber required (cubic metres) and the type of wood selected.
To calculate the cost we multiply:
Length × Width × Height × Material Rate
Material rates per cubic metre are:
• Douglas Fir — £1100 / m³
• Western Red Cedar — £1450 / m³
• Sweet Chestnut — £1750 / m³
• English Oak — £2000 / m³
• English Ash — £1750 / m³
• English Beech — £2000 / m³
• Sequoia — £1100 / m³
• Lawson Cypress — £1000 / m³
Example:
A beam measuring 2m long × 300mm wide × 200mm thick has a volume of:
2 × 0.3 × 0.2 = 0.12 m³
